Debbie Hammonds announced in church that the Golden Age Nursing Home residents are stuffing Easter eggs again this year. If you would like to assist them or donate some small wrapped candy
or gum to go in the plastic eggs they would appreciate it. Their goal is to have 5,000 eggs ready for area children to hunt. Give the home a call and check with the Activity Director to see where you can help.

Prayers were offered for Wyatt Jurney, Paula Cox, Madison Taylor, Jerry Hendon and Kayla McCarley.

If any members or friends are bringing small children to hunt eggs in our Prayer Garden on Easter morning, please call the church office and let us know how many to plan for.

We will ask the congregation for donations of wrapped eggs and treats this coming Sunday. Our garden is a beautiful place to hunt eggs and take lots of family photos.

Maundy Thursday Services and Communion will be held at Laurel St. United Methodist at 6:00 p.m. That is an early start so leave a note on the refrigerator or you will be late.

Laurel St. Church is on the far south east side of Dublin just off highway 219.

Laurel St. Church is the old Purvis Methodist Church. It was moved into Dublin and has been built onto and modernized. If you want to visit a “country church” and stay in town, then come and be with us for Maundy Thursday Service.

On Good Friday the First United Methodist Church will be open from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for individual prayer in the sanctuary. You may kneel at the altar rail or in your pew as your heart and health dictates you to do.

The Worship Leader this past Sunday was Judy Lunsford; Michael Halley operated the power point and did a great job. Alford Havens and David Cleveland served as greeters at the door and performed as ushers also.

A thank you card from Barbara Stevens was read thanking her church family for the vase of fragrant flowers she received after her knee surgery. She was also thankful for the prayers, food and phone calls. Barbara is up and going places and doing nicely so far.

The scripture Rev. Ken Lunsford took his sermon from was John 13:31 -38. He titled it “Will You Lay down Your Life for Me?”

In the 13th chapter of John Jesus addresses his disciples, He call them little children. Jesus says “Little children, I am with you for a little while longer. You will look for me but, where I am going you
cannot follow. I give you a new commandment; Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”

Will you make Jesus’ will your will? Will you make His style your style? Will you make His love your love? Will you make His power your power? People will never see Jesus unless they see Him in us, unless they see Him in the way we live. Dr. Babcock at the Brick
Church in New York City once asked; “If men cannot believe in Christians, whom they have seen, why should they believe in Christ, whom they have not seen?”

We ask these questions to underscore the very heart of commitment, which is laying down our lives for the sake of Christ.
