There were many new recipes tried out at the luncheon after church. We learned a new way to fix squash in a salad just as I thought I had exhausted every idea.
The new rubber floor mats in the kitchen are there for safety, but they feel a lot better than the concrete floor!

Stormy Armstrong served as Worship Leader on 6-30. Stormy read from Galatians 5:1, 13-25. Pat Beaty and Leta Sage did a fine job on the music. They sang a special for the Offertory, it was “Freely, Freely” and the harmony was
beautiful.
Prayers were offered for David Mayfield who was injured while participating at a ranch rodeo in Oklahoma on Saturday 6-29. Also in our prayers were Sarah Harris and Del Higgins.

Pastor Ken gave the children a lesson on direction. He showed them his handy dandy I Phone which has a compass application. He told them a compass will help you find which direction you want to go. There are plenty of instances where we could have served Christ better, but somehow other things got in the way. Jesus wants people who will walk in His footsteps daily regardless of their circumstances. Jesus wants people who will be with Him whether He ascends to a throne or is crucified on a cross. He does not need those who are continually making excuses about why now is not a good time for them to make a commitment. Jesus is looking for people who will wake up each day with a determination to live as Christ would have them live. Can Jesus count on you?
