Cody Belew has a birthday on 8-24, and then Barbara Stevens and Karen Rowe share the 25th.

It is still wedded bliss for Ola Mae and Ray La Baume who have an anniversary on 8-28. Congratulations!

Remember there is a baby shower for Erika Grimm on Saturday, 8-25 at 1:00 p.m. They are expecting a little girl.

Butch Belew continues to heal from his surgery and looking forward to being out and about. Butch and the Belew family thank those who have prayed for a successful outcome and supported
the family during this time.

Nancy and Cliff Wooldridge report their grandson who had surgery is doing much better. This young man who is 14 years old has had string of hard luck with his health. He needs our sincere prayers and a 4 leaf shamrock would not hurt either.

Pastor Ken continues to meet with Mike Hannah on Fridays. Rev. Hannah is mentoring Pastor Ken on his journey as a Local Pastor.

Virginia Stephens told the congregation her 4th great-grandson will turn one year old on 8-24. We think she was rubbing it in a little with four greats.

Several members asked for prayers for their children or grandchildren who are heading off to distant colleges.

School will start here in Dublin on Monday, 8-27, and so watch out for the children and extra vehicle traffic in the streets.

Lisa Leatherwood returns to teaching this term. We wish her
well.

Rev. Ken Lunsford based his sermon on Ephesians 5:15-20. The text describes what a community of faith might look and even smell like; it is the “fragrance” of Christ.

Paul was writing the church at Ephesus and giving advice how to live a fulfilling life. Paul had found great joy in living for Christ and he wanted others to experience that same joy. Paul had found meaning and purpose and a reason for being.

Paul writes do not get drunk on wine but to be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. He asked them to sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.

Here is the secret to a wondrous life: “Be very careful how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.”
