                           COVID-19 VIRUS
Concerns about the Corona Virus are real!  I don't intend in this note to give suggestions on how to deal with this disease.  There is the CDC, Surgeon General of the United States, multiple medical outlets, doctors, hospitals and community organizations who are far better qualified than me to do that.
Practice washing your hands with soap and water often, control your coughing and sneezing with a tissue and dispose of the tissue in a covered container.
I ask you to refrain from handshakes and hugs for a few weeks and we will greet each other verbally instead.
We will be Live streaming our services on Facebook at our scheduled worship times listed on the left side of this page.  Our Facebook page is:  First UMC Dublin TX     May God Bless all that are involved in containing this Pandemic and may they be Successful and may all the Medical Professionals, Doctors, Nurses and Nurses Aids be safe from this Pandemic.  We are so thankful for each and every one of our Medical Professionals for looking out for our well being and caring enough to give, give of their talents, time, compassion and their service!  Please join me in praying for them, our Health Care Workers and our World!!

                                RACISM- NO!
On the Subject of Racism and the recent horrible deaths of George Floyd and the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery and so many others: we, you and I,  must wrestle with our response as a conference; as a church; and as a Methodist to the continuing blight of racism and loss of life. Black lives matter to God!  ALL LIVES MATTER TO GOD!
On Sunday, May 31, Christian churches across the globe  celebrated Pentecost and the miracle that happens when the wind of the Holy Spirit blows new life upon a gathering of believers.  What shall we — the community of faith — make of this opportunity to be transformed anew by the breath of God, even as we are simultaneously confronted by the image of one of God’s children pinned to the ground, begging for life and exclaiming “I can’t breathe”?
The staff of The General Commission on Religion and Race work to make our words actionable by offering suggestions to help people take the next faithful step.
Not today?
I’m tired?
We all need to do our own work!
The road to Minneapolis and General Conference offers an opportunity for the people of The United Methodist Church to commit to the discipleship journey with anti-racism at the heart. If we say yes, Christ will lead us straight to the pain points. The next faithful step can be found there.
Please read my Pastors Blog for June under the tab above "MORE"  Check out the UM document about our history on this subject!
